Produced as the opening film for the BBC StoryWorks + International Council of Nurses series Caring with Courage, this piece introduces the heart and purpose behind the stories that follow.

Told through the voices of Beth Partin, a nurse practitioner in rural Kentucky, and Rina Wahyuni, a pediatric palliative care nurse in Jakarta, Indonesia, the film highlights the shared humanity that connects nurses across borders. From caring for underserved patients in Appalachia to walking alongside families through life-limiting diagnoses in Indonesia, these stories reveal what it truly means to dedicate one’s life to care.

As part of Goodfellow’s work in healthcare video production, this series introduction honors the essential, often invisible role nurses play in holding healthcare systems — and patients — together. It’s not just a job. It’s who they are.
