Produced in partnership with Spacelabs Healthcare, this short film tells the story behind the Rothman Index — a patient acuity model built to detect deterioration early and give care teams the chance to act before a crisis.
Through the personal story of co-developer Dr. Michael Rothman and the clinical voice of Daniella Johnson, a nurse specialist at Northside Hospital, the film reveals how data and instinct work hand in hand. What began as a son’s loss turned into a powerful clinical tool now improving patient outcomes, reducing code blues, and supporting earlier interventions, from critical response to palliative care.
